Ether Data AI Launches First National H3-Native Census Intelligence Dataset for AI and Analytics

Boston, MAPress release

Ether Data AI, a Boston-based geospatial intelligence company, today announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind national spatial dataset that transforms U.S. Census data into a fully H3-native, cloud-ready intelligence layer designed for modern analytics and AI systems.

The new dataset covers the entire United States and includes all U.S. Census attributes, modeled into over 250 standardized features per H3 cell, enabling teams to query, model, and deploy spatial intelligence without the traditional overhead of boundary joins, enrichment pipelines, or feature engineering.

Unlike traditional geospatial products that rely on administrative boundaries or partial census subsets, Ether Data AI’s approach re-architects census data directly into the H3 grid system, creating a consistent, scalable spatial fabric suitable for machine learning, forecasting, site selection, mobility analysis, and decision automation.

“Census data is incredibly powerful, but it was never designed for modern AI workflows,” said Nathan Woodman, CEO of Ether Data AI. “We built a foundation where census intelligence becomes cell-based, model-ready, and immediately usable inside cloud data warehouses.”

Built for Cloud-Native Analytics

The dataset is natively available in Snowflake and Google BigQuery, allowing data teams to query and integrate spatial intelligence using standard SQL—without specialized GIS tooling.

To accelerate adoption and experimentation, Ether Data AI is making full H3 datasets for New York City available at no cost to developers, researchers, and organizations.

Designed for the Next Generation of Spatial Intelligence

Ether Data AI’s H3 census fabric is designed to serve a wide range of use cases, including:

  • AI and machine learning feature stores
  • Market and site selection analytics
  • Urban planning and infrastructure modeling
  • Retail, mobility, and demographic forecasting
  • Public policy and research applications

Availability

The Ether Data AI H3-native census dataset is available immediately for enterprise access with dedicated support. San Francisco, Boston, and New York City samples are free to explore on BigQuery, with additional metropolitan areas coming soon.
